I’m a senior lecturer in philosophy at the University of Edinburgh. Before joining the School of PPLS here in Edinburgh in 2019, I was a lecturer at King’s College London, and before that an assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy at Hong Kong University. Between 2015 and 2019 I also spent a lot of time as a Humboldt Fellow at the MCMP in Munich.

I work primarily on questions in philosophy of science and metaphysics. My book The Metaphysics of Quantities has recently come out with Oxford University Press. Aside from this project I also work on structural realism,  idiosyncratic aspects of the history of quantum mechanics, and theories of laws of nature and causation.

I earned my PhD in philosophy from Stanford University and my MPhil in philosophy from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
